About Me

3 years ago, I remember being up late one night watching a movie and after the movie this crazy infomercial came on advertising a program called P90X. I watched for a little bit, then turned it off because it looked WAY too intense for me. I had never been one to workout or want to stay in shape and I knew a program like that I could never do (negative thinker).

So I went on with life and didn't really think much about P90X after that.

Like most girls I enjoy shopping.... A LOT. I remember being at the mall in February and I was buying jeans at American Eagle and I grabbed my normal size 2 jeans because that is what I always wore and took them into the fitting room to try them on. Well this is when a hard dose of reality hit me, because none of those jeans fit. I always had the mentality of "I don't need health and fitness because I've always been thin and always will be". That worked for most of my life, but now that I was standing in the fitting room so angry with myself that these jeans did not fit me, I did not know what happened. How did I gain extra weight and where did these love handles come from?

So I just stood there for awhile and then the fitting room attendant asked if she could help me. I said "can I get these in a 4 please". She brought them back and disgusted with myself, I put them on. They fit...a size 4 fit me. I know most people are thinking like "oh whatever a size 4, yea I wish I was that". Well once you are used to being small and everything always fitting and then when that doesn't happen anymore, it's not an enjoyable experience.

So that moment, buying a size 4 jean is when I decided, OK, I'm getting older and I can't keep on eating whatever I feel like in huge portions ALL the time. This has to change. I was drinking 4-5 diet coke's a day, eating greasy pizza and fast food whenever I wanted. I was feeling crappy because of what I was putting into my body. I really did not have any knowledge about good food and whole food and organic food.

So this is when I started researching workout programs and joined a gym. Well, the gym was about 25 minutes away from my house and I never went. I had no motivation and no desire to go to a gym and workout with fitness experts and people flaunting their awesome bodies. So I decided I needed an at-home workout. Then this little thought of P90X came back to me. I researched a little online about it and testimonials. I figured well what do I have to lose? And ordered.

It arrived- Core Synergists was the first workout and I remember the first day... I thought I was going to die and couldn't make it through without stopping various times. Push ups? What a JOKE! I kept thinking to myself that I could not do this. I wasn't going to make it. But then, something happened and I thought back to myself in the dressing room, upset with the way that I looked and thought... No, I HAVE to do this for me. I want to be fit, I want to be strong and I can do this P90X thing. After my first month I was stronger, leaner and building awesome muscle.

I was back into my size 2 jeans and feeling great. Was it hard? Yes, absolutely. I couldn't do all the moves in the beginning and there were MANY days when I struggled to press play. BUT you have to set that goal in your mind of where you want to be and where you were and what is pushing you. You have to schedule your workouts into your day like you would any other appointment. You have to take it one step at a time and change little things about your habits to get yourself on the right track.

I also started to change what I was putting into my body. I GAVE UP diet coke completely. It was TOUGH and I had major headaches for 2 weeks, but it was the best decision I have made. I stopped eating fast food all together! I did a lot of research and watched various documentaries like 'Fast Food Nation' and read various books about where fast food places get their products and how the animals are treated and I just decided supporting these places, was not for me. Plus, I no longer wanted to put that garbage in my body. Food loaded with fat and calories and just plain garbage.

Then I started researching certain companies and how they treat their animals and what their farms are like etc. I was DISGUSTED with what I was reading. I took a whole new approach to where I buy and what I buy. You have to educate yourself on what you are buying and where it comes from!!

All of these things together have shaped me to who I am today. I had a great transformation with P90X. I changed my eating habits and educated myself on food and fitness. I am very conscious to what I am putting in my body. This wasn't an easy road, it took me years to figure out what was right and what was wrong. I made mistakes along the way and I want to pay it forward and share what I did. Share recipes and tips that I use to live better. I want to share my story and my fitness challenges and goals to help others get to where they want to be.

My job as a Beachbody coach is to educate and promote wellness and healthy lifestyle. This isn't a place where I'm going to tell you "I promise you'll get ripped in 90 days". This is a place where I am going to share with you my tips and ways I can help you. Give you motivation to start your own journey and help you get there.

If you are feeling motivated to make a change, join a challenge group of mine. I promise you won't regret it! Let's get fit together!
